Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY: We are seeking a senior developer responsible for building applications using C#, various web technologies, and SQL Server for developing both front-end and back-end applications. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these layers of our applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is essential.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Designs, codes, tests and documents new systems or enhancements to existing systems of moderate to high complexity and scope.
2. Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
3. Works with the customer to clarify and further define requirements, as necessary.
4. Executes performance and stress testing.
5. Adapts frameworks and best practices established for the project or unit, or by the system or industry.
6. Conduct testing by developing test data and following test plans to ensure applications meet standards and specifications.
7. Research issues to determine root cause and take appropriate steps to correct them.
8. Create and maintain version control of source code.
9. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Strong knowledge of latest versions of Visual Studio and TFS for full-stack application development consisting of web applications, web services, window services, and console applications.
2. Proficiency with C#, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS, MVC, Web Forms, Responsive Design, T-SQL, HTTP, and IIS.
3. Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools or OutSystems software is a plus.
4. Experience with learning third-party APIs and integrating into applications.
5. Knowledge of database development, including building databases, comprehension of database schemas, and writing SQL to select and manipulate data.
6. Familiarity with Windows Presentation Foundation is a plus.
7. Proven experience developing technical solutions to business needs.
8. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, in a courteous and professional manner, with all levels of internal customers and outside vendors. Must maintain an excellent customer relations demeanor. Must be able to grasp concepts and business needs definitions to translate into technology solutions.
9. Ability to think independently, analyze situations in order to make sound, reasonable judgments and decisions, and to take appropriate actions.
10. Ability to budget time effectively and to create and adhere to project time frames. Promptly communicates to management when conflicts or barriers exist that jeopardize successful project completion.
11. Flexible working with both legacy and current technologies.
12. Fast learner with a desire to grow your skill set.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. 8 years + experience in software development is required. Experience in healthcare, Ux design, or graphic design is a plus.
