Farm Shuttle Driver Job Opening in salem, Oregon - Farm Shuttle Driver JB Instant Lawn, a Leader in the Green Industry. JB Instant Lawn has specialized in providing beautiful lawns since 1968. Headquartered in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley, JB farms nearly 2500 acres of sod, seed, and nursery stock in Oregon and Washington. We are looking for a seasonal (Mar-Nov) full-time Class A Shuttle driver in Silverton, Oregon. (This position could turn into permanent) Must have farm endorsement to transport pallets of sod in a safe and efficient manner. A doubles endorsement required. Bi-lingual a plus. This position is available for immediate hire. Candidates must also pocess a current medical certification, provide a DMV print out less than 30 days old and pass a pre-employment drug screen. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ? Load and unload the truck using a forklift. ? Must maintain Class A Requirements, medical certification, and will be subject to random drug screens ? Tarp and load sod pallets on and off trucks. ? Perform accurate load counts ? Communicate and cooperate with other departments about the schedule and timing of moving materials. ? Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS ? Prior experience driving a class A vehicle is a must. ? Must have a 3 year clean, commercial Class A. ? Must be thorough and detail oriented, and able to perform assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner. ? Strong written and verbal English communication skills ? Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required. ? Ability to operate in a team environment. ? Must be an extremely safety conscious individual. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ? Ability to safely lift 50 lbs regularly. ? Ability to stand on feet for eight to ten hours on a daily basis ? Ability to operate a forklift. ? Ability to climb in and out of a truck.
