General Functions
This position is responsible for various activities as assigned within the Finance/Accounting Department including, but not limited to: general ledger reconciliations, procurement, accounts payable, cash receipts, bank reconciliations, payroll, and audit preparation for various companies. May supervise on a limited basis.
Major Activities (Typical )
Write up deposit tickets and prepare bank deposits for cash receipts received in main office
Enter cash receipts into Yardi for receipts that are received in the main office
Review and post cash receipts
Reconciles general ledger accounts
Create recurring journal entries and adjusting journal entries as needed
Review and post charges for tenant utility charges
Prepare monthly crosswalks for low rents and NSP
Create lead sheets for low rents and NSP balance sheet items for CIHA (GP)
Completes bank reconciliations
Creates bank transfers or check requests for cash management
Responsible for loan payments and journal entries
Update Property Management Fee schedule and create a check request
Respond to compliance audit requests
Update all balance sheet schedules
Assists in maintaining and updating financial procedures as needed
Performs data entry
Assists in month end and year end activities to insure accurate financial reporting
Assists in audit preparation for multiple companies
Prepares personal property tax returns
Performs other related duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
Experienced in all aspects of general bookkeeping
Self starter with ability to solve problems with minimal
Experience working with MS Office products with emphasis in Excel and Word
Experience working with automated accounting software packages
Experience working with property management and/or Yardi software
Ability to type 40 words a minute and to operate 10-key by touch
Strong interpersonal communication and organization skills
Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college with major course work in accounting, or closely related field or experience may be substituted for college on a year-for-year basis.
Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and supervision
