Job Summary: The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for leading assigned projects by ensuring all processes, operations and resources are working cohesively throughout the project?s life cycle, resulting in successfully implementation of the associated project.
Position Essential Functions:
Manages overall project organization to ensure requirements and project deliverables? dates are clearly communicated, understood and executed
Responsible for monitoring project risks and scope creep to identify potential issues and proactively recommend solutions to address them
Creates business requirements to communicate the business need to IT
Works closely with IT to ensure the project is built to meet the business requirements
Works closely with all areas of the company to ensure successful integration of changes associated with business requirements
Consistently manages leaderships expectations by keeping timelines, and associated documentation current
Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Report and escalate to management as needed
Position Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management
5-10 years of project management experience, preferably in an health plan environment
Technical aptitude towards IT structure and processing
Proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector
Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and understand different project teams
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Problem solving skills
Strong critical thinking skills
The ability to identify risk and work to devise a solution
Strong time management skills
