Sales Manager Job Opening in Kalispell, Montana - This position requires excellent selling skills, strong communication skills, and a detailed understanding of property operations and planning. Collaboration with the Sales & Operations teams, and the hotel(s) Leadership team, to develop and grow market share and increase customer satisfaction is paramount.
Managing Sales Activities
Manages the sales efforts for the hotel including local and group/convention business.
Solicits/books local business and develops group business.
Works with the management team to create and implement a sales/marketing plan addressing revenue, customers and market.
Assists with selling, implementation and follow-through of promotions.
Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
Participates in and practices daily service basics of the brand.
Develops a close working relationship with operations to execute strategies at the hotel level.
Verifies that the property implements a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales while consistently delivering high level of service.
Monitors the effective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process by creating mechanisms to channel issues to property leadership and/or other appropriate stakeholders.
Maintains successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment for the owner.
Implements the brand's service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process.
Performs all duties associated with detailing group events for Hotel.
Building Successful Relationships
Interacts effectively with guests/clients, sales, vendors, competitors, local community, associations and other hotel departments in order to monitor guest satisfaction.
Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and monitoring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to the Hotel.
Gains understanding of the hotel's primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution both prior to, and during the program/event/stay.
Transfers functional knowledge and develop catering sales skills of other discipline managers.
Performs other duties as appropriate to meet business objectives.
Identifies and solicits new accounts
Solicits existing accounts for new business and an increase of revenues of confirmed events
Responds to all guest inquiries and 3rd party leads within 8 business hours
Conducts a minimum of 3 outside calls per week and a minimum of 30 solicitation calls per week
Exceed monthly revenue booking goals
Leads site visits and answers questions as needed
Requirements:
2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 4 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
OR
4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of general sales techniques and up-selling skills
Superior customer service skills
Solid collaboration and relationship management skills
Strong verbal communication and business writing skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills keenly focused on details
Must have dexterity/mobility to meet clients on and off premises, to tour property and attend functions, to climb stairs, use door keys and operate basic office equipment
Ability to execute a sales and marketing plan to enhance revenue
Proficient in computers, including but not limited to, Internet and Microsoft Office programs
