Merchandising Assistant Job Opening in Plainwell, Michigan - Merchandising Assistant:
The Merchandising Assistant is responsible for the direct management and handling of all new product set up as well as ongoing supplier and customer support. This is a highly visible role both within and outside the company where professionalism, accuracy and efficiency are paramount. The individual in the position will accomplish effective logistical oversight through strong leadership and decision-making skill. This role also operates under a high degree of urgency; The Merchandising Assistant must maintain and demonstrate the ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments while meeting deadlines. The role reports directly to the Vice President.

Experience and Skills We are looking for:
Experience with programs such as Microsoft Excel and all Microsoft Office Applications
Ability to learn on the go and follow both in person and online instructions
Extremely detail orientated individual who is able to multi task projects
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and set own direction as well as be a part of a team
Demonstrates highest levels of responsibility, honesty and ethical behavior at all times
Able to be flexible with hours needed each week to complete tasks
Ability to lift 40lbs, and has no weight restrictions
Must have H.S or higher degree, college education is a plus
General Office experience is a plus, i.e.: Filing, phones and other general office tasks
Experience with ERP and WMS systems a plus

The Merchandising Assistant works with both suppliers and customers of Distribution Solutions. From helping select products, identifying pricing structures, item set up both internally and externally all the while keeping a constant flow of communication to all stake holders. Distribution Solutions is also a Storage and Fulfillment location for many manufacturers. Working to receive, store, and ship items for hundreds of different companies. As a small business we operate in a fun and fast moving industry where all of our people have dedicated roles, but also wear a few other hats often found in family owned companies. Our company is solely owned by one family and has been in the publishing, printing and distributing business for almost 40 years.
