Human Resources Generalist Job Opening in Troy, Michigan - Cedarbrook Senior Living is a growing senior living company with communities in Bloomfield Hills, MI and Northville MI. We are seeking a new team member to play an integral part in the human resources department.
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for human resource support to each Cedarbrook Senior Living Community. This includes talent acquisition, recruiting, employee/labor relations, training systems and tracking, compensation analysis and recommendations, and organizational development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works at each Cedarbrook Community within the Detroit MSA to fulfill the essential duties and responsibilities outlined.
Conducts recruitment efforts for each Cedarbrook Senior Living community, which includes reviewing application, prescreening candidates and coordinating the interview and testing process.
Administers new hire orientation, including all onboarding responsibilities including on-line and in-person training and orientation.
Promotes Cedarbrook?s Core Philosophies to existing and new team members.
Works with department heads to provide positive employee relations.
Ensure the application of the employee handbook policies consistently across Cedarbrook communities.
Resolves employees relations issues through discussion and investigation of questions and concerns.
Maintain and audit employee record keeping
Conduct exit interviews and develop processes for employee retention
Assist in the process of performance review
Monitors unemployment claims by reviewing claims, documentation and appropriate response time frames
Serves as intermediary for the Cedarbrook?s insurance and benefit programs.
Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the human resources generalist must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor?s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of HR generalist, preferably in healthcare industry
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The human resources generalist must have an ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, committees, suppliers, members, and team members.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Working knowledge of various computer software programs.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. The team member is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the essential functions of this job, the team member is usually indoors, in a controlled environment, and experiences a moderate noise level in the work environment.
