POSITION SUMMARY:
Software Developer. Assists in the full stack development of applications. This position leads application and interface related projects and creates, implements, deploys, and documents solutions. This position requires interaction and coordination with end users of the systems, vendors, joint venture partners, management and Shields Health Care IT. Position is responsible is completing various tasks and/or projects individually or through a coordinated approach using support staff or vendors, as appropriate.
PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for the entire project life cycle for application initiatives. 2. Gathers requirements and creates programming specifications. 3. Interacts with the business community to align business requirements to IT solutions. 4. Adheres to all department level policies and procedures. Following all turn over and change control process. 5. Create, Design, and implement applications, reports, and interfaces using department approved standards, tools, and processes. 6. Documents and report on key system metrics. 7. Participates in the following: a. Department meetings b. Quarterly IT meetings 8. Maintains knowledge of new technology, initiatives or procedures in information technology. Stays abreast of knowledge through appropriate literature and/or attending seminars and lectures.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science. 2. 2-4 years work experience in Computer Science related job. 3. Prior working experience in healthcare highly desirable. Particularly HL7 experience. 4. Application Design, JavaScript, SQL Server (TSQL), and C# () experience required. 5. Entity Framework, and database management experience highly desirable 6. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with a firm commitment to quality. 7. Strong organizational skills. 8. Ability to formulate and manage high-priority projects.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. 2. Ability to enter information into a computer or similar device for extended periods of time. Requires manual dexterity. 3. Must be willing to travel to Shields, Joint Venture and Referring sites (less than 10% of the time). Above requirements can be met with or without reasonable accommodation.
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS:
This position requires extensive interaction with internal employees and external users, management and vendors. Must interact with all parties in a courteous and professional manner.
