Freight Sales Broker Job Opening in Winston-Salem, North carolina - Job Responsibilities:
Research new carrier prospects, new contacts, and map/segment the marketplace for lane usage; and manage and grow contacts with carriers in your developing portfolio.
Contact trucking companies (carriers) to negotiate rates and move freight for our customers. This is a fast paced role, with a great deal of multi-tasking, problem solving and communication with drivers and associates to accomplish goals.
Continually partner with Client Team Leaders on opportunities for pending RFPs/RFIs for new client-specific lanes.
Qualifications:
Demonstrable knowledge of trucking transportation issues and logistics solutions.
Minimum 2-5 years or greater of experience representing and selling logistics services.
Knowledge of the latest trends in the transportation industry and solid grounding in freight brokerage concepts and dynamics.
Bachelor's Degree preferred/or equivalent work experience
Inside Sales Experience preferred
Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
Strong ability to persuade, motivate and influence others
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively
Excellent systems knowledge: MS Office and Internet preferred
with proprietary 3PL software systems
Driven, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent telephone skills/call-center experience
Interest or knowledge of business/3PL transportation management preferred
