Essential Functions:
1. Primary responsibilities are to identify, originate, and close new business opportunities.
2. Develop a complete understanding of the full scope of Cline Wood services and systems. Training will be provided.
3. Field inbound calls from prospects, completing the application for submission to marketing department and/or external companies.
4. This person will take particular care to capture the appropriate information needed and to answer all questions while suggesting additional coverages.
5. They will be responsible for entering information into the Applied System as well as various other company systems while paying close attention to detail.
6. This person must be prepared to delegate work to appropriate marketing personnel in order to meet deadlines.
7. They must review quotes to confirm accuracy and to ensure complete coverage as well as prepare and sell proposals to prospect within standard time frames.
8. This person will assist Account Managers with cross selling opportunities including owner operators leasing to current Motor Carrier customers and NTU?s moving to primary coverage.
9. They must solicit new customers from ICC lists and referrals.
10. This person will be required to make outbound calls to prospects and referrals as directed.
11. Solve problems by aligning Cline Wood technical resources with prospect and client needs.
12. Strive to identify production opportunities.
13. Identify target markets and companies based on appetite and prospect exposures.
14. Make a positive contribution to client satisfaction and constantly strive to improve service to clients.
15. Generate and pursue new client opportunities.
16. Participate in the presentation of our services in addition to supporting lines of coverage at prospect proposals.
17. Bring new business prospects to closure.
18. Must be able to telemarket new client opportunities.
19. Energetic, highly motivated team player striving for success.
20. Must meet given performance measures as related to job function.
21. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as business conditions change.
Desired Qualifications:
1. College level education or equivalent business related experience desired.
2. Appropriate resident and non-resident (Property & Casualty and Life & Health) insurance licenses required by law to transact company insurance business.
3. This person must be willing to earn the necessary designations (i.e. CPCU, STAR) appropriate for the position.
4. Ability to read and interpret complex documents, such as insurance policies, applications and proposals.
5. Attention to detail necessary.
6. Ability to use telephone effectively in order to communicate with agency personnel as well as potential clients. Must be able to use telephone to solicit new business.
7. Ability to sit and to concentrate for long periods of time.
8. Ability to communicate orally and in writing necessary for relaying complex information with agency personnel and potential clients.
