Help Desk Job Opening in houston, Texas - Help Desk Duties would include (but not be limited to): � Providing prompt, professional, and courteous service by answering incoming phone calls, e-mail, and providing desk-side support for basic hardware, software, network connectivity, email, and various Internet related issues. � Properly identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems for local and remote customers. Requests include installing, configuring, patching, and upgrading software/hardware. Hardware includes desktops, notebooks, printer, copiers, fax machines, telephones, etc. � Maintain and control the companies I.T inventory. � Perform other duties as assigned by management. � Provide emergency on-call support. � Participate in weekend maintenance activities (if required). Preferred Skills and Experience: � Associated technical institute degree or equivalent experience. � Related Service Desk / Help Desk / or Desktop Support experience. � Experience with: � Windows 2000/2003/2008/2008 R2XP/Vista/7 � Microsoft Office (Access in-depth) � Microsoft Terminal Server/RemoteApp � Basic Networking Understanding (Subnets, VLAN�s, VIPS, OSI model) � Remote and hands-on diagnostics and troubleshooting skills (experience using Remote Desktop tools). � Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor on the phone and in-person. � Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow. � Must be a highly motivated self-starter and excellent team player with solid written and verbal communication skills. � Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations. � Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions, with acute attention to detail. � Ability to travel domestically (if required).
