Key development team member focused on Linux device platform technology for a RFID wireless product line. Position provides high visibility and requires close collaboration with other software and hardware development team members, manufacturing, customer support, marketing, and management in their roles to create a successful product.
Embedded Software Engineer, Linux Specialist Primary Position Requirements
Leads the definition of architecture, design, and validation approach for Linux device platform technology
Implements Build systems, Board Support Packages, Operating System, service layers, and device drivers. May include some application level functionality.
Provides input to schedule, technology roadmap and development process. May interface with customers.
Essential Experience Required to Perform this Role
Minimum 10 years of experience in embedded software development
Combined experience in embedded C language software development and hardware/software integration, build systems, root file system creation, board support packages, Linux Operating System configuration and operation, Open Source packages and libraries, embedded Linux solutions and drivers, use of emulators, oscilloscopes, and test equipment.
Fluency in common embedded software development environments, tools, and systems.
Skills include excellent written and spoken communications, team player, quick learner, creativity, desire for continuous improvement.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university. Master's degree preferred.
