Part-Time Physician (Student Health Center) Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - Reporting to the director of health and counseling, this position provides medical consultation to other health and counseling center (HCC) clinical staff and to other College departments as requested. Establishes evidence based evaluation and treatment guidelines. Serves as educational resource to HCC clinical staff, students and the College to maintain provision of up to date standards of prevention and care. Responds to inquiries, problems, or complaints regarding the availability or quality of services. Liaisons with external referral resources (EMS, Emergency Departments, medical specialists, etc.) to insure quality healthcare services are available and being provided for students. Takes internal and external call on ill and injured students requiring higher level of care than available on campus.
This is a part-time (.2 FTE) position requiring 10-12 hours per week of direct patient care during the 30-week academic calendar, September through mid-May; additional consultation duties occur throughout the calendar year. The annual salary is $55,500.
WHAT YOU BRING
Extensive knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and policies.
Knowledge of laws and standards governing nursing practice and college health centers.
Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision.
Ability to analyze and evaluate operations and develop and implement corrective action and resolve problems.
Ability to work effectively with diverse student, staff, and faculty groups.
Demonstrated effective working relationships with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals.
Knowledge of the range of developmental issues for college-aged students.
QUALIFICATIONS
Active License as Physician and Surgeon by Oregon Medical Board (MD or DO). Controlled Substance Registration Certificate ("DEA") for Schedule II-V drugs. American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Certification ("Board Certification") in one of the following: Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Ambulatory Medicine or Emergency Medicine. CPR-AED certification for Healthcare Providers. NOTE: All must be unencumbered or permit both autonomous and supervisory functioning and must be maintained in good standing at all times. Three year?s experience in working in a college student health clinic and five years supervisory experience preferred.
