Part-time Bookkeeper Needed at Music Store Job Opening in San Antonio, Texas - ZoZo Music is a small ecommerce music store that sells musical instruments and accessories. We are looking for a part-time bookkeeper to come in 2-4 times a month.
The Bookkeeper will create and analyze financial reports, prepare and file federal and state reports and returns, and monitor tax filing deadlines. Other duties include, bank and credit card reconciliations, post journal entries, assuring general ledger integrity, accounts payable and receivable, monthly profit and loss statements, monthly sales tax, payroll tax, 940 and 941, W-2 and 1099, etc. Our ideal candidate will hold a degree in accounting, has a tax preparation background, and is highly proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft excel.
Job Duties:
Prepare and file federal and state reports and returns
Process payroll reporting in compliance with state and federal laws through quarterly and annual reports
Monthly profit and loss statements
Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
Balance accounts by reconciling entries
Maintain and balance general ledger
Maintain quality historical records by filing documents
Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
Craft Accounts Receivable invoices, reviewing payments received and record deposits
Create journal entries to clean up books
Contributes to a team effort by successfully accomplishing given tasks and assists in additional projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Must have tax return preparation experience
BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred, but not required
5+ years related work experience as a bookkeeper
5+ years experience with QuickBooks required (QuickBooks Pro-Advisor is a big plus)
Highly proficient in QuickBooks
Highly proficient in Excel
Excellent computer skills to include creating backups, restoring
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills
Detail oriented, organized, deadline driven
Reliable transportation is a must
Ecommerce experience is preferred, but not required
Experience working with Amazon accounts and Paypal is preferred, but not required
