The Credentialing Coordinator coordinates and maintains all aspects of medical staff credentialing and provider enrollments for the medical staff and allied health professionals which includes initial credentialing, re-credentialing, expirables, and enrollments according to Bylaws and policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with the appropriate accrediting guidelines and regulatory agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process medical staff initial and reappointment applications and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and bylaws.
Verify provider?s applications and supporting documents ensuring eligibility of providers for multiple facilities.
Create and prepare credential files for completion and presentation to Medical Staff Committee within time periods specified.
Maintain copies of current state licenses, drug enforcement administration (DEA), controlled dangerous substance (CDS), malpractice insurance, and all other required documents.
Prepare and submit, provider enrollment applications and supporting documents for enrollment with payors
Maintain and check status of all pending and completed providers? applications with payors.
Maintain and update credentialing files which includes expirables, database, and rosters.
Escalate non-responsive providers to manager with documentation of request.
Coordinate with facility staff in getting the credentialing process completed in its entirety and maintained on a regular basis.
Responds to internal and external credentialing inquiries son a day to day basis as they arise.
Performs other job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma Required.
2 years medical staff credentialing and provider enrollment experience required.
Knowledge of medical and surgical terminology.
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS preferred).
