Medical Biller/Collector Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - Scope:
We are looking for a Medical Biller/Collector who can fix and adjust errors within medical claims. We are looking for an analytical candidate who can work in a fast-paced atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience within the medical revenue cycle. Knowledge and experience with commercial payers is a must.
Specific duties include the following:
Following up on claims with commercial payers. Initiating recommendations and action plans for resolving accounts.
Preparing and investigating claims for maximum reimbursement
Initiating appeals with payers when needed
Working on underpayments and fixing billing errors
Working with EOBs
Working on a high volume of claims daily
Preparing bills
Knowledge of EMR
Strong understanding of, and experience with, healthcare claims processing and knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Job requirements include the following:
Minimum of 2 years of medical collecting experience
Experience with follow-up, denials and appeals
Knowledge of commercial payers
Able to work with a heavy volume
Able to work independently and in a team player environment
Medical collections experience is a must, while billing experience is preferred
Excellent data entry and computer skills (Word and Excel)
