Full Charge Bookkeeper Job Opening in Brooklyn, New york - Metropolitan Family Services, INC, a small and growing nonprofit organization that works in the healthcare industry with mentally challenged individuals, is seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee and manage our fiscal department.
Some of the responsibilities of the Bookkeeper would include, but not limited to:
Billing and remittances
Process bi-monthly payroll and records in Quick books
Balance investments and record in Quick books
Assist with budget preparation and audits
Prepare Payroll, checks, payments and bank deposits
Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts
Allocate and post financial transaction details to subsidiary books
Draw up financial statements (income statement, balance sheet) and generate financial reports
Tracks and reconciles petty cash accounts
Book reconciliation and client accounts
Prepare annual 1099?s
Maintain financial document retention files
New vendor setup and maintenance
Vendor statement reconciliation and discrepancies
Deposit and cash reports
Prepare and/or review of all expense reports for accuracy and proper expense disclosure
Perform accounting requirements Authority?s construction projects
Perform other related duties as may be requested by the Executive Director
Qualifications:
Master?s degree in Accounting
5+ years of Full Charge Bookkeeping, OPWDD, and nonprofit organization experience
5+ years and knowledgeable in using Fund EZ, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast pace environment
Highly organized and detailed orientated
Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
Strong verbal and written communications skills including bringing forth any questions or issues immediately to seek clarification etc?
Ability to interface well with staff, external contacts of the Authority, and Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
Must undergo a background and credit check
This is a full-time position, with 40 hours a week from Monday - Friday, and a salary of $60,000/year.
