ELEVATE Campaign Manager Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - About the ELEVATE Campaign : The vision of the ELEVATE Campaign is to work together to create elevated cities that provide an environment of safety, dignity, and respect for all communities in Georgia. Immigrants and refugees, people of faith, black people and other people of color, LGBTQ folks, women, and people seeking abortion services will rise collectively in love to defend our values and freedoms.
The goals of the Elevate campaign are to:
Develop a multi-issue, value-based platform to be adopted by Georgia municipalities
Educate community members and identified stakeholders about the need to expand and protect abortion access in their city
Build political power and diversified, activate activists on the municipal level
Create a reproductive justice message that affirms the positive value of abortion
Create a political environment that affirms the value of abortion and its connection to other social justice issues
Build new and strengthen existing relationships with social justice organizations working towards creating safe and united communities willing to center abortion access in their work
Position Summary: The ELEVATE Campaign Partners seeks a Campaign Manager with a deep commitment to social justice with the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate the campaign. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations and coordination with ELEVATE Campaign Partners. The ELEVATE Campaign Manager is an important internal and external leader who collaborates with ELEVATE Campaign Partners and a growing base of Georgians to achieve the ELEVATE Campaign mission.
This full-time position requires work both in and out of the office. The staffer must be based in Georgia and must be able to get to campaign coordination hub city, Atlanta.
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Managing Campaign Budget
Ensures the organizational growth of ELEVATE Campaign partners is supported by the campaign
Oversees website content, updates, maintenance.
Provides support as needed to ELEVATE Campaign partners in relation to ELEVATE Campaign
Community Leadership:
Build and maintain relationships with communities, activists, and organizations in Georgia.
Develop and implement strategies that will maximize connections between ELEVATE Campaign Partners and members in selected municipalities
Solidify campaign strategies and targeted strategies for each city
Coordinate and execute education and outreach events with ELEVATE Campaign Partners
ELEVATE Campaign Partner Management and Development:
Work with ELEVATE Campaign Partners to develop and implement objective, values-aligned performance measurements
Coordinate baseline assessment/research on opportunities, public opinions, and opposition to campaign goals
Train and Lead canvass teams
Increase ELEVATE Campaign membership
Coordinate/Host advocacy days at the Capitol
Launch multi-platform messaging strategy.
Uses appropriate metrics to analyze program data and develop reports to inform ELEVATE Campaign Partners the status of the advocacy programs; evaluates and reports on the advocacy programs? progress, reach, and impact.
Miscellaneous:
Assist with other ELEVATE Campaign related work as needed.
Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:
Commitment to abortion access and full reproductive healthcare for all people; commitment to gender and reproductive justice in a broader frame of social, economic, racial justice for all.
Self-motivated, resourceful, creative, and able to work without significant day-to-day supervision.
Familiarity and comfort with sexual and reproductive health issues, particularly abortion.
Outstanding communication skills with an ability to communicate a genuine passion for reproductive justice issues in a compelling and authentic manner to multiple audiences.
Demonstrated ability to make strategic decisions in complex or fast paced situations.
Collaborative spirit with an ability to maintain flexibility and effectively manage ambiguity in a responsive environment;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; and
You enjoy working with diverse communities and serve as a team leader with a sense of humor;
Willingness to work some evenings and weekends, required.
Outstanding candidates will also have:
At least 5 years of political organizing/campaign management experience.
Capacity to develop an engagement model that can be replicated in other rural, suburban, and urban cities.
A proven track record in coalition building, grassroots or field campaign organizing, financial oversight, and public speaking.
Experience in coordinating media purchase, production, and media relations.
Previous experience advocating, organizing, and base-building with communities of color, low-income individuals, or immigrant communities.
Previous management experience.
Experience developing and adhering to campaign budgets.
Compensation and Application Process:
This a one year position with possibility for renewal. There is an option to be a contract or full time employee. Compensation $50,000 a year.
