Our Cary, NC location is looking for an Accountant to support the Finance Manager. This is a full time, not to exceed 40 hours a week.
The Accountant responsibilities include:
Accounting:
Enter/Post AR items in accounting software and verify incoming payments match source documents
Contact customers concerning discrepancies with their payments
Answer customer questions concerning their account balances, etc.
Monitor customer accounts and collect on past due accounts according to specific deadlines
Prepare sales orders/invoices for customer accounts and send to customers.
Sort, code, and match vendor invoices for payment
Track expenses and process expense reports in expense software
Prepare weekly check run and/or ACH payments in accordance with established routines.
Reconcile and code corporate credit cards
Maintain and perform reconciliation of petty cash
Assist with month end closing activities for A/R and A/P
Enter selected journal entries
Reconciliation of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
Support Finance Manager with other tasks including budgeting
Office Administration:
Front office coverage
Shipping and receiving, including daily mail
Ordering of supplies, refreshments, meals
Filing
Education:
Associate?s Degree in Accounting or 4 years of accounting experience
Experience and/or Qualifications Required:
Minimum
2 years of Accounting experience
General accounting knowledge including debits/credits; journal entries
Microsoft Office products ? An intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel is necessary.
Accounting Software packages/ERP systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable management
Personal Skills Required
Communication ? must be a strong communicator in verbal and written forms
Self-starter ? must be able to manage themselves, develop a task list and work through it
Strong interpersonal skills ? ability to develop excellent relationships both internally and with agencies
Able to thrive in a fast paced, growth filled environment
Positive attitude
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the ?core? work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
