Job Description - DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure / Web Services Engineer
We need a DevOps engineer with strong Amazon Web Services experience. You will develop and maintain cloud formation templates to build AWS services that support our applications & services. You?ll need to understand the whole stack, ELBs to databases, and then help us evolve our system from its current state. Help automate and streamline our operations and processes. Build and maintain tools for integration, test, deployment, monitoring and operations. And troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments. Help us enhance our system through evolution to Microservices and best practices. You?ll sit with our amazing development team, help us evolve our devops tools, processes and systems, adding tremendous value to our business.
Responsibilities
Lead architecture and development direction for devops / automation across our products
Drive continuous improvement across our development, promotion, quality and deployment processes across our entire software development life-cycle
Develop key metrics and help the team use best practices
Work closely with devops engineers to integrate test automation firmly into our CI/CD code promotion pipeline
Help the team appropriately manage quality-related epics, stories, tasks and defects within our agile development processes and tools
Skills
Strong background in systems administration: both Windows & Linux
Experience with management
Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
Strong experience with MSSQL (NoSQL experience is a plus, too)
A working understanding of code and environment scripting (Bash, Powershell, Groovy, etc...)
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
Experience with Jenkins and job-dsl/workflow
Strong understanding of git
Positive attitude
Ability to learn new systems quickly, including mobile, web-services, web-applications, database, etc.
Full stack development experience a plus (C#, HTML/JS, Angular, etc.)
Knack for benchmarking, triage and problem solving
Strong written and oral communication skills
Requirements
Based in the Boise, ID area
CS degree or equivalent experience
2-4 years experience leading devops processes using AWS
2-4 years of software development experience in multiple areas preferred (mobile, web-services, database, etc.)
Direct experience with web or mobile testing frameworks is a plus!
