We have an immediate opening for an Application/Project Engineer to work in conjunction with the US Sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate with the ability to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction.
The majority of the required travel will be in the Continental US with yearly trips internationally to Germany and Asia. Approximately 35% of the time will be on travel.
Responsibilities:
Support US Sales Team
o Interface with high technology manufacturers to understand the abatement requirements for waste gas
o Provide application and technical solutions to customer
o Handle daily technical clarifications
o Develop technical expertise on DAS equipment and process
o Understand customer process equipment roadmaps and implications for DAS
o Understand sub-fab market trends and future customer requirements
o Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape
o Analysis of new and existing processes to set tool configurations
o Make necessary engineering calculations to support product
o Support sales team in the preparation of quotations and technical questions
o Identify future commercial opportunities and contribute to DAS product development roadmap
o High level financial analysis to support project justifications and Cost of Ownership calculations
o Create technical reports and contribute to e-knowledge
o Technical presentations to customers, at conferences, and trade shows
o Lead the applications related technical response review with our customers
Project Management
o Driving operational and product improvement efforts to ensure continuous product feature enhancements and process improvements
o Engage/support a continuous improvement of tool/process evolution
o Work closely with DAS field service engineers to support optimum DAS tool performance for the customer
o Liaise with product line managers for troubleshooting, product/software development
o Collaborate with a team that develops production and characterization test applications. This may include responsibility to establish development schedules, collaborates on test plan development, provide support for product characterization, and provide documentation on all work accomplished.
Qualifications
o Excellent technical knowledge of waste gas abatement systems and their application within the
Semiconductor, LED, and Solar industries etc.
o Strong self-motivation and good leadership fundamentals
o Experience with the process integration of vacuum pumps and abatement tools
o Chemistry or Engineering degree
o Excellent communication skills; listening, speaking and presenting
o Innovative thinker with good problem solving skills
o Entrepreneurial and big picture thinker
o Customer service oriented
o Work well in a team environment
o Willing to travel domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications
o 3 yrs Experience in process gas abatement
o Master's Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience. OR
o Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of semiconductor experience
