Controller Job Opening in Beltsville, Maryland - Summary: To plan, direct and supervise the corporation's financial affairs to include financial reporting, tax compliance, cost accounting and business planning by performing the following duties.
Financial Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administers and maintains all corporate financial records including books of original entry, supporting schedules and subsidiary ledgers.
Establishes and maintains all processes and policies related to accounting matters.
Liaison with outside CPA and banks.
Collects and analyzes corporate financial data to provide management with internal reports.
Establishes and maintains inventory and cost accounting standards for the corporation.
Performs payroll via 3rd party software, and reconciles with internal records.
Calculates commissions due to internal and external sales reps.
Provides for an annual budgeting and planning process to insure long term financial and business strategy.
Provides special reporting and analysis of financial information to management. This includes month-end close and reconciliation processes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains an effective department through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination and review of all department personnel.
Develops and maintains a program for sound employee relations with all accounting employees.
Provides guidance and direction to accounting employees to assist them in their professional development.
Administers the activities of the general accounting, credit, collections and business planning departments.

We are currently seeking a Financial Controller to work in our Beltsville Corporate office. Our Financial Controller owns all aspects of GL accounting & reporting, payroll, budgeting & cost controls, billing & collections, client relationships, vendor management, and agency compliance. As financial controller of our company, you will play an essential role in the ongoing performance and viability of the company. You will provide hands-on finance and accounting leadership in controlling costs, improving efficiency, as well as managing the financial records and processes. The opinion and expertise of the Financial Controller are respected and can influence the internal and external direction of the company as well as decisions made by the CEO.
