LENA Research Foundation (LENA), a 501(c)(3) social entrepreneurial organization, located in Boulder, Colorado, has developed amazing patented technology that is making a difference for children in the US and around the world. We provide advanced technology and programs to accelerate the language development of children birth to five and close achievement gaps.
We are looking for a Web Product Manager who can help take LENA to the next level. If you yearn for something that is exciting every day because you are making a difference, then this may be for you.
Our technology analyzes a child?s natural language environment using a talk ?pedometer.? Its primary purpose is to count the number of words spoken and various other metrics and report these numbers. We have developed the LENA Online? cloud based system to provide highly scalable tools, reports, and program management features that enable our clients to deliver our technology to thousands of children. As the Web Product Manager, you would work collaboratively to plan, design, build, test, and deploy features to this solution.
The Web Product Manager reports to our CIO. The Web Product Manager:
Is the owner of LENA Online. Understands the value of LENA Online from the customer?s and LENA?s perspectives. Understands its features from end to end and how those features support the needs of all parties.
Leads the product roadmap by coalescing differing perspectives on the best ways to proceed into reasonable plans that best fit the Foundation?s goals, our customers? goals, the product committee?s recommendations, and our technology.
Leads the software development process utilizing LENA?s take on Agile and Scrum, acting as both the Product Owner and the Scrum Master. Operates as primary resource and consultant to the development team, providing guidance to implement features correctly. Project-manages all product changes and launches, tracks all associated data, drives issue resolution, tests changes, documents the product, and serves as the communications focal point for the product.
Is the owner and editor of associated documentation, including detailed descriptions of product functionality. Assures that product descriptions, release notes, and other communications are accurate, up to date, and appropriately disseminated.
Produces product changes by first using existing functionality in new and diverse ways and second by designing changes that are as ?small? as possible and/or that solve multiple issues.
Utilizes web analytics, log analysis, and other data crunching, along with personal observations, to better understand our customers? needs and use patterns.
We are looking for someone currently residing within the greater Boulder/Denver metro area who:
Buys into LENA?s mission.
Possesses a burning desire to ?dig in? and get to the truth of what is actually happening, be it in technology, the people processes, or any other situation. Is at home in highly technical situations around data, mathematical formulas, the web, statistics, and so on.
Can rapidly become an expert at internal and customer workflows, with a particular understanding of how they interact with and drive our solutions.
Has deep understanding of how web-based applications function between browsers, servers, and databases and understands what is reasonably possible using these types of systems.
Subscribes to the ?less is more? philosophy in creating solutions and leads others through changes using knowledge and understanding of the product and the people who use it.
Has exceptional collaborative and indirect leadership skills demonstrated with at least one product taken from early development through full operational implementation.
Has ?go to? organization and planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time, appropriately prioritizing and seeking guidance when necessary.
Demonstrates consistently strong attention to detail. And references that back that up 100%.
Exhibits outstanding critical thinking and judgment, relying on insights from in-house and outside experts as appropriate, with a knack for synthesis of disparate inputs into clear paths forward.
Herds cats and enjoys it.
Bachelor?s Degree in an appropriate discipline and 5 or more years of relevant experience.
