Java Engineer Job Opening in Chelmsford, Massachusetts - Elevate Technology Solutions is currently accepting applications for a Java Engineer to support our operations in Chelmsford, MA.

The Java Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Responsible for developing and writing software for the Pro-Vision Carrier Ethernet and Optical Transport Management Platform, in particular:
Java code for Network Management and Monitoring devices in real time and almost-real-time modeling.
Java and Web code for presentation of the information using our cutting edge Web presentation infrastructure.
Design and implementation for robustness, scalability, and robust industry standards using well-established patterns and Open Source libraries.
Java and HTML presentation using state of the art dynamic client technologies.
Joining a dynamic team to design and develop high quality software using the latest web technologies to deliver customer solutions.
Experience working with agile methodologies to deliver high quality software.
Help to find and to fix technical issues mainly from costumers.
Help validation to test and to understand the features that are included in the product releases.
Participate in product and feature definition.
The Java Engineer must have the following skills:
Software design.
Code development.
Development of Software Functional Specifications, to include how to use the feature, known issues or limitations, documenting of EVT (Engineering Verification Testing), identifying key areas of testing for validation.
EVT testing of new software features on targeted related products.
Fixing bugs and other software related issues.
Technical support for issues that are in the scope of the software.
Participate in system level design meetings.
Proficient in the Java programming language and basic libraries, including collections, reflection, annotations. A blind love for the Java programming language is an absolute plus. Java 8 idioms a big plus.
Strong understanding of basic Computer Science theory, ?O? concept, basic algorithms, scalable algorithms.
Excellent personal communications.
Troubleshooting skills.
Ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
Ability to provide innovative solutions for complex design problems.
Experience and knowledge working with databases, Hibernate, PostgreSQL and Oracle a big plus.
Well versed in client-server technologies, including a good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
Knowledge of Vaadin technologies a big plus, but not mandatory.
Desirable: high expertise in Oracle Databases.
Desirable: knowledge of communications protocols
Desirable: SNMP, Netconf protocols
Desirable: familiar with tools such as: Eclipse IDE, Gradle, Junit, Selenium Tests
The Java Engineer must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent degree or experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a high tech Software Development environment.
