Boris FX is a leading provider of specialized visual effects software to the media and advertising industries worldwide. Our products are used worldwide for top video content of all kinds. We're looking for a motivated junior engineer to help our strong, close-knit development group move faster, scale bigger, and create more amazing products by automating and improving our tests and improving our infrastructure.
You'd work closely with our small quality-focused development and QA groups on current and next-generation visual effects software and get to have a significant impact on our products.
This position is in our downtown Boston, MA office. Salary commensurate with skills and experience. Sorry, no remote candidates can be considered.
Roles and Responsibilities
As the newest member of the product development team, you would start by learning our complex code base and our ecosystem by fixing bugs, improving our tools and process, and adding small features, then move into working more on the core Sapphire product, adding larger features and working on new effects and products.
Write cool image-processing effects in C/C++, with UIs in python.
Implement new workflow features across our product line
Help update build process, tests, and continuous integration system.
Help maintain and update our python-based build framework, tools and tests.
Help maintain Sapphire code by tracking down and fixing bugs
Required Experience
Solid experience, comfort and fluency with C++
Solid experience, comfort and fluency with python
CS/Engineering college degree or equivalent experience
Very comfortable with command line tools (Linux/Mac)
Familiarity with two or more of Windows, Mac and Linux
Some knowledge of graphics, image processing, or video software development
Pluses
Familiarity with video editing/effects or image processing
Familiarity with distributed version control
Familiarity with CUDA
