Billing Specialist Job Opening in Elkhart, Indiana - Responsibilities :
The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to: verifying and filing claims with all insurance carriers and ensuring all assigned codes meet federal, legal and insurance regulations; auditing and chart review in a timely and accurate manner for coding and billing compliance; review of all posted encounters for assigned pay codes; submission of all approved tickets electronically to the clearinghouse and retrieval and processing of reports from the same, or print to paper if necessary; posting encounters as assigned; posting of payments received from third party payers manually, or if electronic posting is enabled for payer, review for oddities and make corrections when needed; re-submission of denied claims after review and corrections are made; Running aging details and monitor old claims for payment status and correct as necessary on a monthly basis.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
2 years in medical billing preferred.
Computer knowledge required; Windows, Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with Practice Management Systems preferred
