Building Tomorrow, Inc, an international social-profit organization uniting communities and individuals in support of access to quality education in East Africa, invites interested individuals to apply for our Program Associate position.
Building Tomorrow is a fast-growing organization and with current funding and growth targets, requires someone who can manage the daily logistics of our USA office. It is essential this person be a self-starter, have great attention to detail and a proven ability to work independently. Our ideal candidate possesses excellent writing skills, familiarity reading and preparing financial statements, confidence in becoming part of a growing team, a superb ability to communicate and looks forward to deepening Building Tomorrow?s impact. Most of all, our ideal candidate has a passion for the work of Building Tomorrow and is eager to engage in the organization?s mission through a number of ways behind-the-scenes.
THE ORGANIZATION
Started in 2006, Building Tomorrow currently works with a wide range of institutional funders to support investment in access to quality education throughout rural Uganda with an eye for expansion in sub-Saharan Africa. With a full-time staff of 65 working in the United States and Uganda, Building Tomorrow has commenced or completed construction of 58 schools, providing safe classroom space for nearly 10,000 students. Building Tomorrow?s Fellowship program has continued to grow and today has 40 Fellows working in 160 schools throughout Uganda. Building Tomorrow has received funding and recognition for its innovative work from the Clinton Global Initiative, Echoing Green, the Segal Family Foundation, and Forbes Magazine. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE
Office Logistics
Maintaining group and individual schedules for Building Tomorrow-USA office
Scheduling and managing quarterly stakeholder update calls
Planning assembly and mailing of all snail mail development campaigns
Organizing office operations and handling all incoming external inquiries
Identifying and vetting vendors/service providers for all organization-wide needs
Building Tomorrow Events
Preparing materials ahead of all Building Tomorrow Board Meetings and special sessions
Leading year-round logistics for Building Tomorrow?s two annual fundraising events
Organizing the silent auction portion of Building Tomorrow?s Build a School Night gala
Finances
Overseeing receiving and receipting process of all donations to Building Tomorrow
Preparing statements and invoices for approval of accountant
Coordinates audit activities and other regulatory actions
Leading first review of monthly wire requests from Building Tomorrow Uganda
Communications
Assembling all internal, some external communications to be shared with stakeholders
Tracking in-country impact progress updates and updating externally
Working/liaising with Storyteller in Residence to plan for release of media from Uganda
Updating organization?s blog, Flickr account and other online profiles/partner information
Maintaining organization?s online presence through Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Posting openings, internships openings and volunteer opportunities through year

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor?s degree in a related field of study
Three to five years of work experience ideal
Solid financial fluency gained through classwork, work experience or otherwise
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Photoshop/InDesign and Salesforce a plus
Articulate, possessing superior English written and oral communication skills.
COMPENSATION
Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Health insurance will be included and other benefits, depending on location, may be available. This position is based in Indianapolis, IN and reports to the Chief Dreamer.
