At PeopleConnect, as part of the Pegasus development team, you will design and build highly scalable backend email architecture handling Terabytes of data and processing billions of events every day. We provide elegant solutions for data aggregation, multi tenancy, using enhanced targeting for emails and solve challenging problems.
Here you will have the opportunity to work with engineers who are passionate about Continuous Improvement and industry best practices. We embrace Lean/Kanban methodologies. We constantly test and learn, using data to drive our decisions.
For a willing learner strong with Java, data structures and algorithms, you will have the ability to gain practical experience with Hadoop frameworks and related technologies.
Responsibilities
Design and develop Hadoop Spark jobs.
Working with technology and business stakeholders in gathering requirements and for delivery of projects through all phases and into production.
Optimize quality and performance of Hadoop Jobs.
Working in an agile team, performing code and design reviews.
Desired Skills and Experience
3+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
Strong understanding of Data structures and Algorithms.
Proven experience with Java
Knowledge of distributed systems, such as one of Hadoop frameworks (Map Reduce or Spark)
Strong data modeling and SQL skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Additionally, successful candidates will possess several or all of the following:
Experience with or interest in working with large data sets.
Experience with Spark, NoSQL databases like Hbase and messaging systems like Kafka.
Knowledge of workflow/schedulers like Oozie.
Education and Requirements
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience.
