JAVA SDET
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review or writes code, leads programming and testing and debugging of major software quality projects
Execute on architectural implementation for assigned deliverables based on guidance from manager/lead
TEST STRATEGY AND PLANNING
Provides guidance on test content. Ensure Product Quality best practices are accounted for in the building of applications and services.
Research emerging technologies and proposes the adoption of appropriate, new technologies.
TEST EXECUTION
Execute assigned component level tests and major functionality areas using new or existing technologies. Establish performance test objectives.
TEST ANALYSIS & TROUBLE SHOOTING
Define metrics for quality evaluation effort for a product area. Identify or develop tools needed for test analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years professional testing experience in some combination of Java, TestNg or JUnit, Linux, Apache/Tomcat, JBoss or similar JavaEE middleware, XML, JSON, and REST.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional and geographically distributed team
Ability to work in an Agile, continuous integration environment.
Strong communication and cross-group collaboration skills.
Practical testing experience working with NoSQL databases -- Mongo and Cassandra preferred
Experience with enterprise software and an understanding of networking.
Experience with platforms which can be run on a virtualized infrastructure.
Familiarity with issue tracking and SDLC tools such as JIRA.
Familiarity with software coding tools such as Maven, Git, and Eclipse.
PLUSSES:
Familiarity with Cloud technology such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure is a strong plus.
Knowledge of linux/UNIX commands, scripting, and deployment technologies such as Chef, Jenkins, ANT, and Maven.
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
