The Payroll Clerk will work independently in accordance to policy and procedure, while performing basic payroll functions along with a variety of clerical duties. Must be able to work independently and according to policy and procedure. Become a part of a growing team with unlimited potential!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Works closely with the Payroll Manager and Accounting Department
Regularly perform duties independently and according to policy and procedure.
Assist with accurately processing payroll, tax filings and database administration.
Reviews payroll reports to ensure accuracy.
Ensures accounting practices are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Communicates clearly and directly with employees concerning payroll and administrative issues.
Monitors changes in tax laws and form in each of the states to ensure compliance in each state of operation.
Responds to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters.
Maintain strict confidentiality in regard to sensitive employee information.
All other job-related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Strong attention to detail, self-motivated and able to work in a deadline driven environment
Assist with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of payroll processing
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Solid understanding of economic and accounting principles and practices
Ability to prioritize workload, solve problems quickly and interact with others
Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs and other miscellaneous business software
Maintains a valid Driver?s License and be insurable under company insurance provider/program
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate?s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two (2) or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
