Staff Medical Technologist Job Opening in Hazard, Kentucky - Hazard Regional Medical Center is seeking qualified applicants for the position of STAFF MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST in Hazard, KY
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Staff Medical Technologist performs clinical tests in any one or combination of areas of specialization depending on size and scope of the laboratory activity.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES:
Performs tests in all lab departments to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Performs all duties of technician and may assume duties of Senior Medical Technologist and/or Chief as required.
Evaluates results of various procedures.
Performs trouble shooting procedures on equipment as related ot the duties after advising supervisor of problem.
Participates in quality control program in the department.
Maintains appropriate records and performs clerical duties associated with respective department.
Assists in training students and/or new employees.
In the absence of his immediate supervisor, notifies physician of unusual test results.
May participate in employee evaluation process.
Participates in total lab coverage either on shift basis and/or on call.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or one of the sciences related to Medical Technology and certification as a Medical Technologist by a national certified agency.
Must maintain state licensure, as required.
