Software Developer I Job Opening in Rockford, Illinois - SUMMARY
This Developer-I position is responsible for analyzing requirements then creating functional and technical design specifications for JAVA related programs of small to medium complexity. The Developer-I must be capable of following the software development life cycle (SDLC) in order to develop application logic from provided specifications. This person must be able to learn the structure of complex mature software applications, locate and repair problems in the code as well as make enhancements within the framework of the existing software package.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor?s degree in Information Systems, Computer Sciences, or related field
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of previous object-oriented programming experience, at least one of which was Java.
Experience with Java or experience as a software developer.
Good knowledge of software programming languages.
Ability to debug simple to moderately complex programming errors.
Working knowledge of database, networks and hardware platforms.
General knowledge of business software, and/or testing tools available to support the technical environment
Understand functional and technical design specifications, and can develop software code that implements the design specifications.
Check results of coding and logic flow through appropriate levels of testing.
Follow policies and procedures for promoting code between application environments.
