Senior Cost Accountant Job Opening in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - To assist the Executive Staff in all project cost accounting functions related to projects and services. Prepare and monitor cost reports for work in progress. Confer with project managers and project executives on changes and adjustments to cost reports to include forecasting changes in cost and revenue. Prepare cost and expenditure statements; Draw requisitions and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project. Review change order cost proposals and coordinate with project management for all change order cost and revenue. Manage all contract and change order establishment during the procurement and delivery period. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare and monitor project work in progress schedules and reports. Collaborate with project team on changes and adjustments to cost projections used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project. Perform internal audits and assess cost effectiveness of projects tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures as needed. Conduct daily data and recap monthly financial statements Analyze general ledger variances.
Requirements:
BS in Accounting, Finance, Business or Construction Management.3+ years of cost accounting verbal and written communication problems solving and analytical and HCSS Heavy Job software experience preferredCommercial construction and/or CM firm experience preferred.
