Process Development Associate III/IV Job Opening in seattle, Washington - Process Development Associate III/IV Job Title: Process Development Associate III/IV Department: Downstream Process Development Requisition #: 1166 Associate in Purification Process Development CMC ICOS Biologics is a contract development and manufacturing organization (CMO) and is the US division of CMC Biologics, a Danish CMO. The company manufactures protein-based biologics for human clinical trials under contract to small and large biopharmaceuticals companies and has plans to move into commercial manufacturing in the near future. CMC ICOS Biologics was created upon the acquisition of the biologics division of the former ICOS Corp., and hence retains many of the experienced staff from the former organization. We are currently seeking high-performance individuals to join this exciting new business. You will be part of a process development team responsible for: ? Development of robust, cost effective and well-characterized processes for purification of monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins. ? Design and performance of viral clearance studies, process testing and control, process transfer and scale-up into the cGMP manufacturing facility and process validation planning and execution as the company moves toward commercial capabilities. ? Bench and pilot-scale production to demonstrate process performance and to supply pure material for additional studies. ? Assessment and implementation of new technologies for protein purification and processing. Requirements: ? B.S. in engineering or biochemistry. ? 5 years in a process development setting. o Hands-on experience with proteins, particularly process purification via chromatography and filtration-based methods. o Hands-on experience with protein characterization and analysis is also a plus. o Highly motivated individuals with less direct process development experience are also encouraged to apply. ? Excellent written and oral communication skills are required as this individual will document results of development work on a daily basis, write project updates, participate in meetings and give presentations. ? Extensive experience in data compilation, interpretation, and formatting to be able to generate professional project presentations and reports for critical scientific review ? Careful attention to detail in record keeping, data analysis and reporting and maintenance of a clean and orderly work area. ? Good inter-personal skills and a desire to work as part of a team.
