Lab Technician Job Opening in lansing, Michigan - Lab Technician About Our Company: Fibertec Environmental Services, Inc. was established in 1987 and is a recognized leader in environmental laboratory services with NELAP and NVLAP accreditation. Our high throughput, production laboratory assists environmental consultants, industry, public entities, and others in identifying environmental hazards in submitted samples. We are headquartered in Holt, Michigan. Fibertec also has offices in Brighton and Cadillac, Michigan. Position Description: Major responsibilities include: ? Extracting soil and water samples prior to analyses ? Preparing analytical standards ? Handling some acids and bases ? Performing precise measurements of small volumes ? Performing measurements with laboratory scales and volumetric flasks ? Washing dishes that have been used during the prep process Additional responsibilities include: ? Waste water sampling (provide back up support to our individual who regularly performs this task) ? Ability to drive a company vehicle to customers? sites for sample pick ups, when needed (provide back up support to our Driver) ? Willingness to be trained and assist in other areas, as needed Job Requirements: ? This job requires a basic knowledge of chemistry ? Prior experience in a laboratory setting is preferred ? Ability to work with others as a team ? Ability to maintain intense concentration in the midst of a busy laboratory ? Detail-oriented individual with excellent multi-tasking skills ? Valid driver?s license and a clear driving record ? Ability to lift up to 65 pounds Additional Information: ? Lifting requirements for waste water sampling ? ability to pull a 65-pound container up on a chain for 15 feet.
