CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT POSITION PURPOSE : Ensures that resident?s personal care needs are being met in accordance with Residents? wishes and Care Plan Objectives.
Nursing Assistant responsibilities
Assist residents with performing basic tasks such as eating, dressing and toileting when necessary
Respond immediately to calls from patients for assistance or treatment and alert medical staff to pending emergency situations
Encourage all residents to get exercise and participate in scheduled activities
Engage in housekeeping tasks such as replacing linens on beds, cleaning patient rooms and removing and replacing trash bags
Work with dining room personnel to ensure that all residents get the correct meals and that all residents are able to eat
CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff.
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Prior experience as LTC nursing assistant preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Successful completion of State Approved Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program.
Good standing in the state registry is required.
