REPORTS TO: Director of Finance & Administration
JOB TYPE: Full-Time (40 Hours) / Exempt
SALARY: $45,000 - $55,000 Based on experience

SUMMARY:

The position responsibilities include the direct management of the daily operations of all accounting functions including the implementation of policies and procedures for purchasing, the supervision of payroll processing and the A/P and A/R functions, recommending and implementing changes in accounting practices and technology, and assisting the Director of as needed. Position acts as agency administration & technology management back-up in absence of senior leadership team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Training and supervision of two Accounting Assistants to insure accurate and timely payroll processing, A/P and A/R input and reporting and full compliance with accounting standards and state and federal regulations. Assumes the general financial duties of the Director of Finance & Administration in his/her absence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DAILY TASKS :
This position requires such typical work operations and responsibilities as, but not limited to:
Maintains and executes Kuhn's central purchasing system according to agency policy and procedures.
Oversees and is accountable for the preparation of the bi-weekly payroll and maintaining payroll records and related items.
Responsible for the accounting of Kuhn's assets and inventory as well as assuring the application of all required cost allocation guidelines and tracking.
Management of accounting procedures for posting transactions to the General Ledger and for supervising and maintaining the A/R and A/P.
Timely and accurate preparation and reporting of state and federal tax forms, state sales tax reporting and payment of payroll taxes.
Responsible for office supply order coordination and procurement.
Leads in the coordination and provision of accounting information and records for the annual independent audit and assures full compliance with FASB, generally accepted accounting principles and state & federal regulations.
Preparation of the financial reports for presentation to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors and ongoing operating results to Management
Knowledge of computer software specific to Accounting functions and supports the administration of information technology.
Acts as agency administration and technology management back-up in absence of senior leadership team.
Evaluates, recommends and project leads changes in accounting software assuring adequate capacity, capability and cost effectiveness.
Track financial performance by client work contracts and inform appropriate management of results.
Represents Kuhn in industry-wide work committees as appropriate. Attends job relevant
REQUIREMENTS:
Significant knowledge of payroll and accounting procedures, purchasing, and financial computer applications.
Experience with QuickBooks required and familiarity with ADP payroll system desirable.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead an accounting team and projects.
Minimum of a B.S. in Accounting or Business Management and a minimum of 4 years of Accounting experience.
Involved in volunteer or community activities.
Available means of transportation. Automobile insurance in force per Kuhn's specifications when using personal vehicle for work related purposes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to operate computers, calculators, and other business equipment.
