Full Charge Bookkeeper Job Opening in Martinez, California - Accounting Professional - Law Office / Winery
Established local (Martinez) Law Office is looking for a part time full charge bookkeeper. This position also includes bookkeeping for a Winery that is a separate entity.
We are looking for a strong skilled person who is looking for a part time position (Monday - Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm) to keep books and records in order for these businesses. The individual must demonstrate strong bookkeeping skills and an exemplary work ethic to be considered for this position including being punctual to work on the days/times needed.
Candidates should have at least 5 years bookkeeping experience with an understanding of the general ledger and all functions within the accounting cycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll (through Intuit). All data entry through reconciliation and monthly reporting are done by the successful candidate that fills this role.
SUMMARY OF REQUIRED DUTIES:
Accounts Receivable: Law: Daily cash deposits
Record all payment information into Quickbooks and reconcile to client accounts
Process all time information through Time Slips
Process monthly billing through Time Slips
Winery: Import all credit card and cash information into Quickbooks and reconcile to merchant accounts
Import web sales and processing appropriately
Reconcile cash deposits (made through winery)
Invoice entry and tie into inventory relief.
Accounts Payable:
Entry of invoices from vendors and reconciled to source documents
Run weekly payments, attach all pertinent information for review and approval.
Payroll: Enter all payroll information into payroll system
Run Intuit semi-monthly payroll (Law) and bi-weekly (Winery) and reconcile reports
General ledger and Monthly :
Manage cash flow on a daily basis
Maintain timely closing of financial records and reporting to owners
Reconcile all bank accounts
Reconcile all other balance sheet accounts
Prepare needed journal entries Generate month end and year end reporting Coordinate all financial reporting information with local CPA for income tax filing
Prepare reports required for regulatory and tax agencies (winery)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience
At least 2 years Quickbooks Pro experience Time Slips experience a Plus (Law) Excel skills and word processing skills (as needed)Ability to problem solve and identify areas to streamline operations
Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy and thoroughness
Strong organization skills, able to function independently yet a strong team player with a positive attitude
Strong work ethic and belief in confidentiality of information
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
References required. Hourly compensation based on experience.
