The Perioperative RN will utilize the perioperative nursing process to plan and provide total, direct patient care before, during, and immediately after surgery according to established standards and practices.
What you will need to be successful:
The Perioperative Registered Nurse must possess a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Alaska . A minimum of 1-year experience in a critical care or post-anesthesia care setting is desired. The nurse in this position must possess, and maintain a Basic Life Support Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification . The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Basic keyboarding and computer/word processing skills are required for data entry into the electronic health record. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization . Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentage, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.
