UI Technical Artist with Game Experience Console-based Video Game UI, UI Implementation Tools, UI/Interaction Design, Motion Graphics, Adobe *ONLINE PORTFOLIO REQUIRED WITH SUBMISSION Our Client in Redmond is looking for a Technical UI Artist to help develop an exciting new experience in the gaming universe. Position Description: The Technical UI Artist will be key to the authoring and integration of the User Interface for one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry. The ability to work well, both independently and in a team environment, is a must. Duties and Responsibilities: Master the use of game engine tools to integrate UI assets into the game. Work closely with: The UI Artists, Designers and Developers to bring design mockups through the pipeline and into the game. Design, Production, User Research, and Dev to find the best solutions to UI challenges. Find creative solutions to both technical and artistic challenges. This is an estimated one-year PLUS position through Volt Technical & Creative Communication , which is headquartered in Redmond, Washington. Required Skills for this UI Technical Artist position include the following: Must have 3-5 years of experience in Console-based video game UI, with deep knowledge and understanding of UI Implementation tools, Design and UI/Interaction Design Must have worked extensively with in-house and/or 3rd party UI Design tools and must be familiar with a wide variety of art creation tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash Deep understanding of User Interfaces for console platforms Deep understanding of fundamental Design principles (i.e. typography, layout, grid systems, hierarchy, color, composition) and Motion Graphics Strong knowledge of Adobe CS5 products (including Flash) Strong cross-functional communication skills - i.e. must interact effectively within a team environment and work collaboratively Passion for and knowledge of games - i.e. you play the latest and the greatest, and can articulate what qualities make a great title Extreme attention to detail - i.e. you believe that one pixel off is NOT "close enough" Exceptional organizational skills - i.e. you do not allow anything to "fall through the cracks" Scripting experience preferred The ability to work well, both independently and in a team environment, a must Instructions to begin the process: Due to the file size of most portfolios, please do not email samples along with your resume - this will be requested at the time a Recruiter contacts you.
