Job Description: The incumbent of this position directs and maintains the fiscal activities of Kansas Correctional Industries (KCI) and ensures proper accounting of private industries under the supervision of the Director. This includes developing accounting records and statistical information, preparing and filing of financial statements and analyzing operating results and trends. Direct and coordinate the development of all business group accounting records and statistical information. This position is equivalent to that of a Corporate Controller of a midsized manufacturing organization. Provide detailed monthly profit and loss statement along with State required information. Coordinate inventory control policy using KCI?s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Supervise Purchasing staff, work with director on annual budget. Writes reports and conducts inspections required by IMPP?s and General Orders. Responsible for security, safety and operational policies and regulations governing inmate behavior.

Pay: Starting annual salary begins at $56,118.00 with consideration given to experience.
Minimum Requirements: Four years of experience in professional accounting/auditing work. Education may
be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Minimum Competencies: Applicant will be able to interact with co-workers, and outside personnel to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Necessary Qualifications: Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position. Must possess a valid state driver?s license.
Preferred Skills: At least five years? experience in professional accounting including three years? experience as a corporate
Thorough understanding of Accounting cycle and impact of entries made. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and budget and procurement practices and procedures. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of supervision. Knowledge of computerized accounting software.
