The Staff Accountant we are seeking is planned to be a valuable part of our Tax Division. This team member is planned to be responsible for the following duties:
Preparation of Federal and various state income tax returns for various entity types including, but not limited to individuals, partnerships and S corporations
Client bookkeeping including, but not limited to recording transactions and reconciling bank accounts
Preparation of trial balances including supporting workpapers and reconciling account balances to subsidiary detail
Preparing financial statements
Preparing live and after-the-fact payroll
Preparing Federal and various state payroll tax returns
Preparing local tax returns (sales, hospitality, property tax, etc.)
Process client invoices and prepare A/P checks
Research tax issues and present concise analysis of findings
Other tasks as assigned
The ideal candidate for this position will meet the following qualifications and expectations:
Bachelor of Science in Accounting
Hold a CPA license or pass the CPA exam within 18 months of hire
Have advanced computer knowledge, basic accounting knowledge, have data-entry experience and typing skills, display excellent reliability, punctuality, professionalism, ability to follow detailed instructions, and ability to perform quality control checks (2-4 years experience preferred)
Must have excellent reliability, punctuality, integrity, confidentiality, & professionalism
