Senior Accountant Job Opening in Charlottesville, Virginia - The University of Virginia Foundation is inviting applications for a Senior Accountant. This position is responsible for assisting with the management of internal controls and operations of the University of Virginia Foundation?s accounting function. Responsibilities include disbursement of payments, receipt of funds, and overall assistance in the control of the assets of the Foundation.
The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years financial accounting experience; a BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, and a CPA designation is preferred.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include, but not limited to:
Prepare the month-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepare and analyze data reports for all UVA Foundation properties and projects
Assist with all accounting aspects of the annual external audit process
Active role in forecast and annual budget process
Prepare monthly financial reports and analysis
Manage the risk assessment process
Assist accounts receivable with invoicing, aging and recording cash receipts
