Senior Cost Analyst Job Opening in Elizabethtown, Kentucky - This position is responsible for compiling financial analysis, including cost estimating and profit tracking. The Cost Accountant is also responsible for ensuring common costing methods & standards. Plant cost accuracy including purchased material, process costs during RFQ process, and cost comparisons between plants is also required. Works closely with Plant Controller and Plant Engineers.
Essential
Completes RFQs including Engineering Design and Manufacturing changes for external customers.
Works with plant personnel to track profit of selected programs and analyzes profit deltas. * Supports internal Program Management team on process / design changes by calculating and analyzing cost.
Works with plant personnel to complete financial analysis for various manufacturing investment scenarios, including comparison between different machines, equipment, and processing.
Works with plant personnel to spot-check cost accuracy.
Works with a cross-functional team (Program Management, Finance, Purchasing, Design and Manufacturing) to analyze costs of Purchasing, Design and Manufacturing and define recovery activities. Provides recommendations to the Manufacturing Planning Committee (MPC) and plant personnel.
Works with plant personnel to ensure common cost estimating methods and standards. Will also complete cost estimating studies.
Works with Manufacturing Planning Committee (MPC) and plant personnel to complete financial analysis for various manufacturing scenarios, including site selection for new products, transfer of production between plants, make versus buy components, and capital investment.
Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)
Bachelor?s Degree (B.A) in Finance or Accounting and a minimum of five years of accounting or financial analysis experience including cost accounting and controlling in a manufacturing environment or equivalent commensurate experience.

Diverse accounting and financial skills, ability to perform in areas of accounting outside of cost accounting.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with program management, sales, engineering, plant executives, and finance professionals. * Ability to manage and prioritize conflicting demands with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to be extremely organized, results driven, with the ability to handle diverse assignments concurrently.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Strong computer skills including MS Office, Microsoft Project, and Lotus Notes or Outlook.
Ability to exercise independent judgment to perform essential duties.
Ability to develop instructions and guidelines to perform functions of the job when necessary.
Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to present information internally.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility. However, this position is required to lead cross-functional teams and manage the multiple competing deadlines from each of the interfacing departments.

In addition, the specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is mostly sedentary; however there is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration and to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Other Requirements There is travel required to visit other Akebono facilities on a regular basis, therefore ability to fly and drive a motor vehicle is required.
