Staff Accountant Job Opening in Minnetonka, Minnesota - National Fundraising Management and Metro Metals Corp., is seeking candidates for the position of Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. This position will work at both locations in Minnetonka and St Paul. We are seeking a candidate with 2+ years as an accountant with a background in a fast paced small to mid-size company.

The primary responsibilities will be to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of assigned accounting functions, and includes but is not limited to:
General ledger maintenance and analysis including account reconciliations
Prepare and process journal entries
Cash monitoring and reporting, weekly deposit reconciliations, bank reconciliations
Month end and year end closing processes in a tight month end close process
Managing the A/P and A/R functions requires that the accountant have experience in these areas as well as general ledger and GAAP knowledge
Code incoming invoices accurately
Match invoices to checks, obtain all signature for checks and distribute checks accordingly
Communicate with vendors regarding inquiries/problems
Develop ad hoc reporting as well as maintaining various key metric reports
Assist with streamlining accounting and finance :
Associates Degree in Accounting or BA/BS in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of experience as an Accountant in fast paced small to mid-sized company (Preferred)
Solid understanding of GAAP
Experience with accounting systems (Peachtree preferred)
Highly proficient in MS office products
Proven experience in supporting the accounting function
Strong organization, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
