Outside Sales Rep - Eastern Region Job Opening in Stratford, Connecticut - Zapp Precision Strip, located in Stratford, CT is searching for a full-time Outside Sales Rep for the Eastern Region. The Outside Sales Rep will be a part of the North American sales team primarily fulfilling the direct customer contact tasks of the sales process.
Zapp is a privately held European producer of high precision engineered materials which include stainless steel, nickel alloys, titanium and carbon steel in coil form. These materials are then fabricated and formed into components by various sub-contractors and/or original equipment manufacturers into a broad spectrum of products. Zapp Precision Strip has state of the art precision strip production facilities in northeastern United States which serves as its headquarters location. This facility is complimented by distribution facilities globally including two in the continental United States.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Develops new accounts by initiating a sales process and closing sales via direct contact of qualified accounts, building client rapport, identifying problems and presenting solutions/proposals, determining decision process and decision makers, addressing objections, and confirming agreements.
Identifies market potential by qualifying accounts in alignment with the company?s offerings, capabilities and marketing strategy.
Expands sales in existing accounts by creating and maintaining individual account strategies, improving existing products and programs, introducing new products and services, and developing new applications.
Contributes information to market strategy by monitoring competitive products and reactions from accounts and market sources, and identifying unmet market needs.
Shares primary customer communication responsibilities with Inside Sales team for coordination and maximizing customer satisfaction.
Leverages the companies various services (e.g. technical, logistical, etc.) to provide solutions to problems and maximize Zapp?s value to the customer.
Skills:
College degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
3-5 years sales experience (B2B), preferably with Engineered Materials. Metals a plus.
Willing and capable of understanding production and product technology.
Self-starter. Disciplined to work in alignment with established strategies and targets.
Appreciation of detail, quality, process control and business profit.
Computer literate. Competent with Microsoft Office Suite of software. SAP experience is a plus.
Local candidates preferred.
