Business Development Manager - Sales Job Opening in Chesapeake, Virginia - Norton Sandblasting Equipment is a 3rd generation company located in Chesapeake VA . For over 40 years we have specialized in selling, servicing, renting equipment, and providing media to the surface preparation industry.
JOB OVERVIEW:
We are in need of an Business Development Manager, to sell and promote Norton Sandblasting Equipment products and services to primarily commercial businesses. The proper candidate will be an individual who is seeking a career opportunity not short term employment.
Although experience in surface preparation would be beneficial, it is not a requirement. The right sales representative with the right attitude and determination to succeed can be taught product knowledge.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Makes outbound calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads, establish strong business relationships by properly identifying the key influencers and decision-makers, fact find by asking open-ended questions, uncover needs and opportunities, set face to face appointments, and promote the Norton Sandblasting Equipment name, products and services
Works with outside account executives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
May require some travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular or prospective customers
May travels to and attends trade shows
Maintains a monthly expense report
Implements sales by authorizing contracts and securing strong placements and acceptable rates and estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of manufacturers and firm's production and delivery schedules
Coordinates customer training if required
Displays or demonstrates product, uses samples or catalogs, and emphasizes key features based on fact-finding needs
Quotes prices, credit terms, delivery dates and prepares sales contracts for orders
Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
Enters new customer data and other sales data information into our CRM (ACT)
Promotes and presents new product presentations
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries; as well as, overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers
Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
Provides product demos to qualified customers on request.
Builds and maintains customers? relationships.
Prepares reports of business transactions.

JOB REQUIRMENTS:
Bachelor?s degree preferred
Must have relevant sales experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications ? Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Ability to locate, and bring in new customers
Must possess exceptional organizational, written and verbal skills
Excellent skill in dealing with customers
Effective negotiating and persuasion skills
Ability to meet or exceed forecasted sales figures on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations and problems concurrently
Ability to maintain excellent customer relationships

Salary commensurate with experience plus commission
