Assistant Group Leader Job Opening in Severn, Maryland - Overview: This position is for an individual to assist an Occupational Therapist in facilitating cooking and gardening sensory play groups and social skills group for children.
Schedule: This temporary position is for 6 weeks on Tuesdays starting September 12 from 3:00PM to 6:30PM at a small farm in Severn, MD. The responsibilities include assisting with setup, managing the group and clean-up alongside a licensed OT. The group co-leader will greet parents and children at the parking lot and walk them to the group table to help ensure that the group starts on-time. The group co-leader will also help children participate fully in the activities as directed by the group director as needed.
Experience Preferred: The desirable candidate is one who has professional experience working with children. Candidate can also be a student currently working toward a degree in education, healthcare or other related fields. The candidate must hold at least a high school diploma. The candidate should be personable and able to interact in a positive and professional manner with parents, children and other staff. Employer reserves the option to request child protective services clearance for the state of Maryland and/or background check.
