Insurance Follow-up Specialist Job Opening in Towson, Maryland - Washington & West, LLC is dedicated to assisting hospitals and healthcare systems throughout the entire denial and appeals process in an effort to recover funds from commercial, government and Medicare Advantage payers who have wrongfully denied or underpaid claims.

The candidate chosen to fill this position will join a team of reimbursement analysts to work with health insurance carriers to resolve claim denials or underpayments as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Therefore, the candidate must possess the following:
Comfortable spending long periods of time on the phone
A willingness to take on a multitude of tasks and independently prioritize those tasks accordingly
The ability to handle a high volume of work with great efficiency and with an analytical eye.
The ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems
A high-level of organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor?s degree or three years of equivalent work experience
An understanding of hospital insurance authorization and claim denials
The ability to understand and utilize payer contracts and provider manuals when disputing denials
Experience drafting appeals, disputing denials and following up on submitted appeals with insurance companies
Basic understanding of UB-04, ICD-10's and CPT/HCPCS codes
Comfortable spending long periods of time speaking on the telephone and working on a computer
Ability to navigate in patient financial system or claims billing software such as Epic, Meditech, ePremis, MedAssets
Compensation for this position is negotiable based on work experience.
