Psychologist-Substance Abuse Job Opening in Bridgeport, West virginia - The psychologist provides counseling services including but not limited to assessment, treatment planning, long-term counseling, psycho education, case management, advocacy, and follow-up. Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the licensed psychologist will administer, evaluate and interpret psychological testing; write, monitor and coordinate behavior management plans with the clinical team.
Counsel patients, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes.
Provide counseling regarding treatment and treatment interfering behaviors. Participate in the Pain Management department?s higher level contingency monitoring program and corrective action plan for those that have coexisting chronic pain and substance abuse disorders.
Interact with patients to assist them in gaining insight, defining goals, and planning action to achieve effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.
Identify psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues and diagnose disorders, using information obtained from interviews, tests, records, and reference materials.
Counsel individuals and groups regarding problems, such as stress, substance abuse, and family situations, to modify behavior or to improve personal, social, and vocational adjustment.
Develop and implement patient treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and patient histories.
Review and evaluate patients? progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans. Continually assess patient needs, service availability and appropriateness of treatment plan. Regularly discuss the treatment of problems with patients.
Interview patients, review records, and confer with care teams in order to evaluate patients? mental and physical condition, and to determine their suitability for participation in a specific behavioral program.
Select, administer, score, and interpret psychological tests to obtain information on individuals? intelligence, achievements, interests, and personalities.
Consult with or provide consultation to medical providers, therapists, or clinicians regarding care.
Provide the collaborative documentation for service delivery including treatment goals, progress notes, and billing and submit said documentation as specified by set standards. Maintains complete and accurate records and reports regarding patients? histories and progress, services provided, and other required information.
Promotes positive inter-department cooperation. Willingly participates in applicable committees or task forces, demonstrates a positive behavior in identifying and resolving complex or out of policy operation problems.

Education
Master?s degree in addiction counseling, mental health counseling or clinical counseling is highly preferred.
Qualifications
Licensed Psychologist in West Virginia
Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and fingerprint analysis.
Experience
Two (2) years of practical therapy experience.
Experience working directly with individuals who have chemical dependencies is highly preferred.
Experience with Motivational Interviewing, Self-Management and Patient Engagement strategies.
Experience with Medicare and Medicaid population, insurance providers and telephonic engagement.
Demonstrated experience in working with an underserved population.

Annual salary is negotiated based upon a number of factors. Factors such as experience, certifications, experience in substance abuse , unique skill sets, etc. are all considered.
This outpatient clinical setting position is Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 does not require nights or weekends.
